Basketball in Broken Hill is played at the R. K. Sanderson Basketball Stadium Complex. The Broken Hill Basketball Association Inc (BHBA) was formed almost 60 years ago by a small group enthusiastic people willing enough to put a great deal of time and effort into a fledging basketball association.
The first indoor stadium was built in 1972 by Peter Budini Builders, and was opened the same year by the Broken Hill Mayor at the time: Ald. Dial and Bob sanderson, whom the present day complex is named after. The Broken Hill Basketball Association have interstate trips to places such as Port Augusta, Whyalla, Adelaide, and Albury/Wodonga. The BHBA are enjoying a resurgence of popularity again and it is hoped that many more people will enjoy this great game in Broken hill.
